Warranty: what “up to 18 years” actually means
Warranty length comes from the boiler manufacturer, not from us, so it depends on the model fitted. ATAG, for example, includes 12 years of cover as standard on its boilers, with the option to register for 18 years, plus a separate lifetime guarantee on the heat exchanger itself. Other ranges we fit typically carry cover in the 2 to 10-year bracket. Either way, the warranty stays valid provided the boiler is serviced annually, which we can arrange as part of your ongoing cover. We'll confirm the exact terms for your specific boiler before you commit, and we register it on your behalf once it's fitted.
Why the Hive thermostat isn't just a freebie
Since April 2018, every new combi boiler installed in England has had to include an extra efficiency measure under Boiler Plus, on top of a basic room thermostat and programmer. A qualifying smart thermostat is one of the routes that satisfies this, alongside things like weather compensation. Fitting a Hive as standard means that requirement is covered as part of the job rather than being a separate line item, and you get a system you can actually control from your phone into the bargain.

What does the 12-month workmanship guarantee cover?
Anything related to our installation work itself, separate from the manufacturer's warranty on the appliance. If something we did needs putting right in that first year, we come back and fix it.
Will I need a full power flush, or is a standard flush enough?
We test the system water on the day and tell you honestly. A standard flush is included in every price above; if the system is heavily sludged, we'll say so and explain what a full power flush would add.
